Well, it is VERY important that you understand backlinking.
You see, as of now, a lot of signals that rank your website for the keywords that you want to rank for relate to backlinking.
While that is lovely to know, there are a lot of types of backlinks and what is really bad is that some that work today could punish your website tomorrow. Backlinking is really about ranking in the search engines, and with that in mind, I am going to constantly tell you to not rely on the search engines for all your incoming traffic.
I suggest that you work on your social media sites and get them to rank and bring you a ton of visitors.
I will just as happily tell you to simply BUY your traffic and then you will not need any of the SEO side of all my training.
Finally, Your content and your backlinking are going to be very related and this makes it all potentially complicated.
Get it right and you will get very rich, get it wrong and you will work for a year or two for no income. Sorry about that.
I still suggest that you learn everything you can about backlinking. I promise you that after 10 or 11 years of full-time online marketing, it has been the best way to rank your website for all that time. Who knows, it might be that way for the next 10 years too.
